CAT6 is the network cable behind most wired internet and office networks, also called LAN cable, Ethernet cable or internet cable. It connects computers, routers, switches, Wi-Fi access points and IP cameras. Our CAT6 has four twisted pairs of solid copper conductors, colour-coded blue, orange, green and brown, inside a PVC jacket.
We make CAT6 in Pakistan with copper conductors, not copper-clad aluminium (CCA), in unshielded UTP and foil-shielded FTP versions. Choose a 23, 24 or 25 AWG conductor and a blue, grey, white, green or orange jacket. We supply 305 m boxes to installers, IT contractors, offices and homes across Pakistan.

Construction
How CAT6 cable is built
Four parts: solid copper conductors, colour-coded insulation twisted into pairs, a central separator and the outer jacket.

Illustrative four-pair UTP construction shown. FTP shielding and other specifications vary by product.
Solid copper conductor
Eight solid copper conductors, 0.45 to 0.57 mm across depending on gauge. Copper conducts better and lasts longer at terminations than copper-clad aluminium (CCA).
Twisted-pair insulation
Each conductor is insulated and colour-coded, then twisted with its white-striped partner. The twist helps each pair reject interference and crosstalk from its neighbours.
Central separator
A cross-shaped divider keeps the four pairs apart along the cable, one of the features that distinguishes CAT6 from older CAT5e cable.
PVC outer jacket
Protects the pairs during pulling and installation. Available in blue, grey, white, green and orange, so different networks are easy to tell apart.
CAT6 cable types, gauges and colours
Choose UTP or FTP, then the conductor gauge and jacket colour. Both types come in all three gauges, and all five colours are normally in stock.
Conductor gauge
Diameter of each solid copper conductor, for UTP and FTP. A lower AWG number means a thicker conductor.
- 23 AWG0.57 mm conductorThickest, most specified
- 24 AWG0.51 mm conductorLighter gauge
- 25 AWG0.45 mm conductorLightest gauge
Jacket colours
PVC jacket, normally in stock. Colour-code different networks, such as data, CCTV and Wi-Fi.

- WhitePVC jacket
- GreenPVC jacket
- OrangePVC jacket

CAT6 Network Cables FAQs
What is CAT6 cable used for?
CAT6 is the standard cable for wired computer networks. It connects computers, routers, switches, Wi-Fi access points, IP CCTV cameras and network printers in homes, offices, schools, shops and commercial buildings. It is also called LAN cable, Ethernet cable, network cable or internet cable.
Is your CAT6 pure copper or CCA?
Our CAT6 uses copper conductors, not copper-clad aluminium (CCA). CCA cable has an aluminium core with a thin copper coating. It is cheaper, but it has higher resistance, breaks more easily at terminations and is a common source of network faults. Our copper conductors are made with the same 99.9% pure copper we use across our range.
UTP or FTP: which do I need?
UTP (unshielded twisted pair) suits most homes, offices and indoor networks. FTP adds a foil shield around the pairs, which helps where the cable runs close to power cables, motors, generators or machinery. If your project has a specification, follow it, or tell us where the cable will run and we will help you choose.
Which gauge should I choose: 23, 24 or 25 AWG?
23 AWG is the thickest conductor we make and the gauge most CAT6 specifications call for. A thicker conductor has lower resistance, which matters most on longer runs and when powering devices such as IP cameras over the cable. 24 and 25 AWG are lighter gauges. Check your project specification, or ask our team to compare them for your installation.
What is the difference between CAT5e and CAT6?
CAT6 is a higher cable category than CAT5e. It has tighter construction and, in our cable, a central separator that keeps the four pairs apart to reduce crosstalk. Most new network installations now use CAT6 rather than CAT5e.
How long can a CAT6 cable run be?
Ethernet standards limit a twisted-pair link to 100 metres in total, normally up to 90 metres of fixed cable plus patch cords at each end. For longer distances, add a network switch along the run or use fibre.
Can CAT6 be used outdoors?
Our CAT6 has a PVC jacket made for indoor installation. For runs outdoors, underground or in direct sunlight, use conduit or ask our team about a cable suited to the conditions.
What is the CAT6 cable price in Pakistan?
Price depends on the type (UTP or FTP), conductor gauge and quantity. CAT6 is supplied in 305 m boxes. Send your requirement through the quote form or WhatsApp for current prices and delivery to your city.
