House wiring cable is the wire that runs through the walls and conduit of a building and carries power to its lights, sockets, fans and appliances. Ours is a single-core cable: a copper conductor covered by one layer of PVC insulation, a construction written as Cu/PVC. Electricians also call it house wire or electric wire.
We make it in imperial sizes from 1/.044 to 7/.064, which most people know by their short names such as 3/29, 7/29 and 7/44, and in metric sizes. Our catalogue lists imperial sizes to BS 2004, rated 250/440 V, and metric sizes to BS 6004, rated 450/750 V. If you are unsure which size your installation needs, share the application with our team before you order.

Construction
How house wiring cable is built
Two parts: a copper conductor and a single layer of PVC insulation around it.

Seven-strand construction shown. Conductor construction varies by size.
Copper conductor
99.9% pure copper. Most sizes use seven twisted strands, one in the centre and six around it. 3/.029 has three strands and 1/.044 is a single solid wire. Metric 4 mm² and 6 mm² use a seven-wire Class 2 conductor.
PVC insulation
One layer of PVC insulation around the conductor, giving the single-core Cu/PVC construction.
House wiring cable sizes
We make imperial and metric house wiring. They are separate products, so order the size your drawing or electrician specifies.
Imperial sizes

House Wiring FAQs
What do size codes like 7/29 and 7/36 mean?
The first number is how many copper strands the conductor has, and the second is the diameter of each strand in inches. A 7/36 wire, written in full as 7/.036, has seven strands, each 0.036 inches across, giving a cross-section of about 4.6 mm². It is not the same product as a metric 4 mm² wire, so order the size your drawing or electrician specifies.
What are 3/29, 7/29 and 7/44 wire sizes in mm?
By cross-section, from our catalogue: 3/29 wire is 1.278 mm², 7/29 is 2.982 mm², 7/36 is 4.597 mm², 7/44 is 6.867 mm², 7/52 is 9.591 mm² and 7/64 is 14.528 mm². The solid 1/.044 wire is 0.981 mm².
Do you make imperial or metric sizes?
Both. Imperial sizes run from 1/.044 to 7/.064, and metric sizes such as 4 mm² and 6 mm² are also available. Tell us the size your drawing or electrician specifies and we will confirm the match.
Which size do I need for my wiring?
That depends on the circuit, the load and the length of the run, so it should be decided by your electrician or consultant. Share the application with our team and we will help you compare the available sizes.
Which colours are available?
Red, black, yellow, blue and green. In Pakistan, red, yellow and blue are normally used for the three phases, black for neutral and green for earth. Confirm the colours you need when you order.
How is house wiring supplied?
Our standard coil is 90 metres. Aziz Cables manufactures in Lahore and supplies customers across Pakistan, so share your delivery city, sizes and number of coils for a quotation.
What is the price of 3/29 or 7/29 wire?
Wire prices follow the copper market, so we quote on the day you ask. Send the sizes, colours and number of 90 m coils through the quote form or WhatsApp, and we will reply with the current price and delivery to your city.
Can I see test documentation?
Yes. PCSIR Laboratories Lahore tested samples of our 3/.029, 7/.029, 4 mm² and 6 mm² house wiring in October and November 2025, using BS 2004 and BS 6004 test procedures, and every graded test passed, including the high-voltage test. Our ISO 9001:2015 certification covers cable manufacturing. Ask our team for copies of the reports.
How can I check the cable is genuine Aziz?
Our house wiring is printed along its length with AZIZ CABLES, the size, Cu/PVC, the voltage grade, the standard and our registered trademark number, T.M. No. 233059. Check the print before installation, and contact us if anything looks wrong.
