Power and multicore cables carry supply from the main panel to distribution boards, machines and equipment. Each cable groups two or more individually insulated cores under one PVC outer sheath, so a whole circuit runs as a single cable. Buyers usually ask for them by core count, as 2 core, 3 core or 4 core cable. We make them for commercial and industrial installations and other electrical setups.
Choose copper multicore (Cu/PVC/PVC) with 99.9% pure copper conductors, or aluminium power cable (AL/PVC/PVC) where weight and cost matter on larger runs. We also make shielded multicore cable with tin-coated copper cores, and large single-core cables for heavy connections. Our catalogue lists BS 2004, BS 6004 and IEC 60502-1 for this range.

Construction
How a multicore power cable is built
Three parts: stranded conductors, colour-coded core insulation and a common outer sheath.

Illustrative four-core construction shown. Core count, conductor construction and materials vary by product.
Conductors
Each core has its own stranded conductor: 99.9% pure copper in our copper range, or aluminium in our AL/PVC/PVC range.
Core insulation
PVC insulation on every core, coloured so each one can be identified at both ends. Red, yellow and blue phases with a black neutral are shown.
Outer sheath
A common PVC sheath holds the cores together and protects them during installation. This second PVC layer gives the Cu/PVC/PVC and AL/PVC/PVC names.
Power cable ranges and sizes
Copper and aluminium cables are separate ranges. Order the conductor, size and core count your drawing or consultant specifies.
Copper multicore (Cu/PVC/PVC)
Strands × strand diameter in inches. Listed at 250/440 V and 300/500 V under BS 2004 and BS 6004. Cross-section per core from our catalogue.

- 7/.064"2 or 4 core14.528 mm²
Aluminium power (AL/PVC/PVC)
Aluminium conductors. 2-core rated 250/440 V; 3 and 4-core rated 450/750 V. 25 and 35 mm² in 3 and 4 core only.
- 7/.052"2, 3 or 4 core

Power & Multicore Cables FAQs
Copper or aluminium: which should I choose?
Copper carries more current for the same size and is easier to terminate, so it suits most building and machine circuits. Aluminium is lighter and usually costs less, but needs a larger size for the same load and lugs made for aluminium conductors. Your electrician or consultant should choose based on the load, run length and budget.
What does Cu/PVC/PVC mean?
It lists the construction from the inside out: copper conductor, PVC core insulation, then a PVC outer sheath. AL/PVC/PVC is the same construction with aluminium conductors.
How many cores do I need?
As a general guide, 2-core cable is used for single-phase circuits (phase and neutral), 3-core for three-phase circuits without a neutral or single-phase circuits with an earth core, and 4-core for three-phase circuits with a neutral. Earthing arrangements vary, so follow your electrical design.
What core colours do you use?
Our 4-core cable uses red, yellow and blue phase cores with a black neutral, the colour code common in Pakistan, so each core can be identified at both ends. Confirm the core colours with our team when you order.
Why don't you list current ratings?
The current a cable can carry safely depends on how it is installed: in air, in conduit, buried or grouped with other cables, and the surrounding temperature. Your electrician or consultant should size the cable from your installation details, and our team can help you compare the sizes available.
What is the 4 core cable price in Pakistan?
Prices follow copper and aluminium prices, so we quote on the day you ask. Send the range (copper or aluminium), size, number of cores and number of 90 m coils through the quote form or WhatsApp, and we will reply with the current price and delivery to your city.
How do I order?
Share the range (copper or aluminium), size, number of cores, quantity and delivery city. Our standard coil is 90 metres. Aziz Cables manufactures in Lahore and supplies customers across Pakistan.
